smartvalues harvests momentum in many different ways. In this basket we look at trends that are currently emerging in four specific sectors, it, midcap telecom, metals and consumer durables. We look at both large cap and mid cap space stocks in this space and identify those stocks that are in a longterm trend. 1. The basket comprises of ten stocks across the sectors like midcap IT telecom, metals, consumer durables
2. All stocks start with an equal ten percent weightage
3. The basket is reviewed every month which may or maynot result in a rebalance. Frequent rebalances can be disruptive and so we like to keep them to a minimum.
4. Stocks are selected based on our momentum filters
5. The portfolio is managed on the old traders' adage of cutting your losses and letting your winners run.
