Companies are selected from both public sector and private sector participants, ensuring exposure across defence platforms, systems, and supporting supply chains.

Each company in the universe is evaluated based on sector relevance, business model sustainability, execution capability, and alignment with long-term defence spending trends. Qualitative factors such as order book visibility, client concentration, and strategic importance within the defence ecosystem are considered alongside quantitative indicators including revenue growth trends, profitability metrics, and balance sheet strength. The objective is to identify companies well positioned to benefit from structural growth in defence manufacturing.

From the defined universe, companies are shortlisted based on relevance to the defence theme, minimum liquidity thresholds, and overall business quality. Preference is given to companies with demonstrated execution track records, consistent financial performance, and meaningful participation in defence manufacturing or allied services. Stocks with excessive leverage, weak governance signals, or limited sector exposure may be excluded.

The portfolio follows a focused approach with a limited number of constituents. Weighting is determined based on relative sector importance, business scale, and diversification across defence segments such as platforms, electronics, and ancillaries. Exposure is balanced between public sector and private sector companies to manage concentration risk. No single stock is intended to dominate the portfolio beyond prudent limits.
