We evaluate large-cap stocks listed on the NSE that fall within the top 150 companies by market capitalization. The focus is on fundamentally strong businesses trading at a discount to their intrinsic value, typically within the 10–14x forward P/E range.The universe is filtered to include companies with:<ul><li>Consistent earnings growth and return ratios (RoCE/RoE) above industry medians</li><li>Low leverage and robust cash flow generation</li><li>High-quality governance and transparent capital allocation</li><li>Leadership or top-tier positioning in structurally sound sectors like defence, power, banking, and infrastructure</li><li>Exposure to formalisation trends and policy tailwinds, including indigenization, capex-linked growth, and sector consolidation</li></ul>

Our research framework is bottom-up and fundamentals-driven. We track sectoral shifts, policy trends, and macroeconomic cycles to identify areas of long-term structural growth. Each shortlisted stock undergoes deep financial analysis across metrics such as earnings stability, margin trends, capital efficiency, and valuation relative to historical and peer benchmarks. Additionally, we look for qualitative triggers such as improving operating leverage, capacity expansion, or industry consolidation that can unlock rerating potential. We also incorporate management commentary, earnings transcripts, and on-ground developments to validate forward growth visibility.

Stocks are selected from a defined large-cap universe based on strict fundamental and valuation filters. Screening parameters include consistent revenue and profit growth, RoCE &gt; 13%, manageable debt levels (D/E &lt; 1.0), and forward P/E multiples below long-term sector averages. We also consider sectoral context; including market structure, competitive intensity, and pricing powe; to ensure only companies with real staying power and economic moats are included. Companies involved in structural tailwinds such as indigenization, infra expansion, and energy transition are given priority.

Weights are assigned based on a blend of conviction and risk management. While higher weights are given to companies with stronger fundamentals, sectoral leadership, and rerating visibility, we maintain diversification by capping single-stock exposure. No individual stock exceeds 15% of the overall portfolio at the time of inclusion. Sector exposure is also consciously balanced to avoid concentration risk while maintaining thematic alignment with the portfolio’s core thesis.
