The universe is the Nifty 500, covering large and mid-cap companies with the trading liquidity a rules-based book requires. Every constituent must clear a minimum traded-value floor before it is eligible, and stocks under exchange surveillance are excluded. Restricting to the Nifty 500 keeps position sizes executable and avoids the liquidity risk that a concentrated book carries in smaller names.

Three factors are combined into a single score, weighted 50% momentum, 30% quality and 20% value. Momentum is measured across 3, 6 and 12-month windows; quality through return on capital and leverage; value through earnings and book multiples against sector peers. A stock must be defensible on more than one dimension to qualify, which is what separates a multi-factor book from a single-factor one wearing a broader name.

The portfolio holds 12 stocks, taken from the top of the ranking and subject to three gates: positive operating cash flow in the most recent financial year, interest cover above two times, and no exchange surveillance flag. A high score alone does not qualify a company; a strong signal attached to a deteriorating balance sheet is a trap rather than an opportunity.

Factor-weighted, so the strongest scores carry the largest positions, with a 20% cap per stock. The cap is set against the holding count: in a 12-stock book a larger position would be single-name risk rather than a conviction expression. Reviewed and rebalanced monthly. Momentum signals decay quickly, so a monthly cycle matches the pace at which leadership actually changes.
