REBALANCE UPDATE

Greaves Cotton Ltd was added in the Green Energy smallcase on 17th May 2023 with the investment rationale of growing electric mobility business having seen e-mobility business grow from Rs.35 crores in FY19 to Rs.1124 Crores in FY23.

But post the rebalance the Ministry of Heavy Industries (MHI) has issued a notice to the company for violating the FAME II guidelines.

MHI has alleged that the subsidiary company of Greaves Cotton Ltd has purportedly failed to adhere to the Phased Manufacturing Programme Guidelines and has allegedly proposed to deregister the company from FAME India Scheme Phase II benefits scheme.

MHI has also directed the company to deposit all the incentives of Rs.124 received by the company under this scheme.
